I love these videos. Although they are a bit too precisely planned, it's still interesting to follow the steps in such a condensed and straightforward way.

Here's another one: http://vimeo.com/927062
Im underated, glad I made it, independant, operated

It depends on the concept although some designers really want to show off and then they bring the whole zoo, just in case. :)
I tried to do something like this myself but with me it doesn't work because it distracts me from actually working on things, I had to constantly press PrtScn which was a pain in the ass. Automated screencaptures produced an even bigger mess.

ahahaha :rollover:
your vid seems great - whats not to like?
and surely - they use capturing software and then they filter out their embarrassing moments

Well mine is just too short. :? I thought about filtering the embarrassing moments as well but I needed a lot of hard disk space just for storing the screenshots. I think 1 per second is the slowest meaningful rate and with my screen resolution the file sizes are pretty big. I may do it someday though, it's good for advertising skills. :D

you dont have to show every second of your work - you dont have to be that precise
these things are not documentaries - they are as you put it - show off
and when you make a show you dont explain yourself to death
and if some pedantic twat starts nagging about this and that step missing
you can always say - hey i use a lot of customized keyboard shortcuts
